Artist Statement

My work reflects thought provoking images exposing emotive qualities. Nothing is preconceived imagery, instead I paint with fearless stamina in more of a dream state …searching for the voice of color …seeking truth…steering towards an ideal balance…between the push/pull and dark/ light of subconscious and physical reality… while dancing on the line between ambiguity and clarity, brush strokes explode with compelling colors…journeys… in and out… ever changing… morphing…until the canvas no longer yearns for attention…achieving an uneasy calmness…clear as mud.
Each piece establishes a unique persona…that changes through the light of day… I paint using a sculptural quality by bringing to life the seemingly flat surface of the canvas…capitalizing on the uncomfortable exchange of high contrast…using bold textures, color and reflective materials that deeply appreciate a multitude of perspectives…the poignant dialog that  emits from these perspectives is what feeds my unyeilding determination to paint.
