Luminous Depths was a commission for a beach home in Florida. The collectors came to me with a feeling rather than an image: what happens where the ocean meets the sky, and how light behaves once it drops below the surface. I built the coral landscape in layers, working organic materials and reflective surfaces into rich aqua blues so the piece would keep shifting as the light moved through the room. That was the whole point. Not a picture of the ocean, but the experience of being under it.

We commissioned a piece for our beach home in Florida. Bergeron's organic materials mixed with rich aqua blues creates wonderful textures and reflection which captures light filtering through the shadowy coral landscapes. The interplay of water and sun submerges me into the experience and reflections upon the wonders of marine life.
