Pain

Pain was commissioned for a hospice patient living with cancer. When I brought the finished piece to him, he looked at it for a long time and said: You painted the colors of my pain. I didn't set out to do that. I painted what I felt in his story. But that moment changed me. I don't think I've been the same artist since.
